Custom Marketplace Analysis
A B2B media company wanted to hear the voices from job sites.
Endeavor Business Media was developing a content strategy for a leading manufacturer of electrical equipment. Before creating a single piece of content, the team needed to understand what electrical contractors, distributors, and installers were actually saying about switchgear, circuit breakers, and motor control centers. We built a Custom Marketplace Analysis that mapped those conversations – product line by product line and competitor by competitor.
Now a standard offering. Endeavor brings scorecard programs to all its OEM clients as the front-end of a content development program.
You can't write for buyers you've never heard speak.
Endeavor Business Media was developing a content strategy for a leading manufacturer of electrical equipment. To make that strategy effective, the team first needed to understand how electrical contractors, distributors, engineers, and specifiers researched, evaluated, and discussed three critical product categories. Each market had its own buyers, priorities, and decision drivers. Before creating content, Endeavor needed an unfiltered view of those conversations – and the buyer journey behind them.
One method. Three product conversations.
We developed a Custom Marketplace Analysis (CMA) for each product category, capturing conversations from engineering communities, manufacturing publications, trade blogs, and the forums where contractors and installers share field experience. Each analysis stood on its own, so that switchgear conversations never blurred with circuit breakers or motor control centers.
Alongside each marketplace analysis, we benchmarked the client’s brand against the competitors buyers naturally compared it with – using the same measures every time. The result was a clear view of buyer priorities, competitive positioning, and opportunities to strengthen future content.

An Editorial Playbook
our measures. One market-informed content strategy.
The market helped shape the content strategy.
The analysis uncovered the application-level questions, concerns, and priorities that engineers, contractors, and installers discussed most often – insights that rarely emerge through traditional market research. Endeavor used those findings to build a content strategy around the questions the market was already asking, making every article, guide, and campaign more relevant to its audience.
The engagement also changed how Endeavor approached future client work. By combining buyer intelligence with competitive benchmarking, the firm expanded its strategic role beyond content creation. Today, conversational data analytics serves as the starting point to help guide content strategy engagements across multiple industrial markets.
